Discovery Prompt
Uncharted expands just as it had begun ─ silently, without warning, giving no indication to its residents that it has decided to create existence beyond the supernatural embrace of Prosfora Meadows' treeline. In one moment, nothing lies beyond the silent forest sentinels, and in the next...

RE: Discover: Common Land - Feynrel - 01-02-2021

Discovery Prompt
Uncharted expands again just as it had begun ─ silently, and without warning...

the world will take the rest

It is all gone in an instant.  The desolate lands of the world that had once been Edana, the echoes of her vibrant world and her scarred lands, disappear as he makes one final attempt despite a prize worth much more being but a howl away.

It all falls away and the wolf of old expects another slumber to befall him, but no such things occurs.  No, instead the once revered stallion falls, just as he fell from grace when he inadvertently destroyed all that he had hoped to save.

He falls and falls.

Feynrel wakes silently.

He wakes within a forest of pines, their needles covered in layers of dense snow that he finds himself also laying on. He sucks in a breath of air, one that pierces his very being as he shifts among the snow and then lets out a growl.

It had failed.  His attempt at getting through the fog and bramble had failed and he was now here.  Wherever here was.

"Telamdys," He says as he makes to stand on chilled legs, his mind unconsciously reaching out and searching for what he can no longer feel. It is a new type of loss that he had never experienced before-this inability to feel beyond the natural world anymore.

He cannot feel any of it, and it is at this moment that the wolf finally begins to wonder if it was all worth it.

That, however, is something to ruminate over later he decides as he glances up and beyond the towering pines of white. He looks beyond them for a moment before he turns his regal gaze to look around him.

Pines as far as the eye can see, all doused in a heavy layer of white from the snow that had fallen over this land.  Winter then, and one that is no stranger to this place.  Turning around in his spot, the stallion now looks at what had been behind him.  In this direction he can see that the trees stop in the distance and, beyond that distance, the coarse surface of what he knows to be ice.

This most certainly is not the barren and desolate wastelands of the land he had once known.  However, it is something else.  Something, perhaps, better.

Better than the nothingness he can now feel.

Land Information

Land Information

Name Suggestions
Vindras Woodlands  |  Wyndroth Woods  |  Loth Forest

General Description
A Taiga covered in lush pines, [name] is a land carved by the rivers and creeks that call this place home.  Bound to the wills of the seasons, during the spring wild blooms can be found growing on the mountains while snow can be found there come winter.  Many a traveler will find it easy to get lost in the thicket of pines, but trek far enough into this unmapped land and one will come across wonders very few have seen.  Filled to the brim with wildlife (docile or otherwise), [name] proves that no matter the harshest of conditions life can prevail and thrive if given the opportunity.

Specific Locations

Vonal Lake  |  The Atir
Found in the upper northern region of [land name], this large body of water known as [name] is recognized for its clear cerulean blue waters during the spring and summer time.  With small islets spread out in the lake, these are only accessible during the colder months when snow falls and the large lake ices over completely.

Scien Springs  |  Scoth Springs
In the western region of [land name] is where one can find [name].  A large area composed of hot springs and geysers, steam can be seen rising from the ground through the pine forest that surrounds this area.  Some of the geysers in the area are quite noticeable, while others can surprise a careless wanderer.  During the colder months some natural fauna of [land name] can be found here, seeking refuge from the winter snow.

Flora & Fauna

While this uncharted land has all the natural fauna and flora one might find in the taiga -such as wood bison, caribou, grizzly bears, and blueberry bushes- there are a few that seem to be entirely unique to this land that has appeared in Uncharted.

Rielle Mushroom | Nos Mushroom
Commonly found living near the bottom of pine trees, this mushroom is known for the faint blue cap it sports.  Speckled with soft white, the [name] is more common in the springtime than any other season.  Along with this, this mushroom is said to be the nightlight of [land name], for once the sun sets a soft, blue glow shines from the caps of these mushrooms. Eating these mushrooms is ill-advised as well, but if one were to partake in a sample they would find themselves collapsing into a dream-like haze.

Windmer | Navet
A wildflower commonly found in large spaces void of any trees, [name] is easily recognized by its magenta flowers.  Able to grow well above 5 feet, it is hard to miss this wildflower and they are often the first to bloom after the snow has finally melted.  Capable of spreading rapidly over an area, it is no surprise that this plant is the most common flora species in [land name].  Studying the plant can reveal that its long shoots and leaves can be cooked and eaten.

A Lombax | A Rathmore
A wolf is always a wolf, but when it comes to [name] one should be more wary for these predators are capable of camouflaging themselves to match their surroundings.  Along with this, these predators have a patience to rival even the most persevering of people, meaning they are capable of remaining still for hours at a time in wait of the prey that they are stalking.  It is even said some can spend days at a time not moving.  Due to this, when not camouflaged, some of these wolves can be seen with moss growing on their slightly hunched backs.  Something that only helps them blend in all the more when they are not even trying.

A Falish |  A Krazor
While there are many avian species in [land name] the [name] is the only one unique to this land.  With a wingspan that can reach up to 7.5 feet, this bird is coated in white feathers that turn duller during the warmer season.  With an entirely black beak and yellow eyes, this bird is both a predator and a scavenger.  Hunting hares and picking away at carcasses left behind by larger predators, these birds mate for life and are more often found nesting along the cliffs of the mountains that [land name] has.

RE: Discover: Common Land - Ryukotsusei - 01-04-2021

Discovery Prompt
Uncharted expands again just as it had begun ─ silently, and without warning...

and the only solution
WAS TO STAND AND FIGHT

Ryukotsusei had passed through nearly every inch of the Prosfera Meadows when searching for Myrle, so when a yawning partition in the mists sat where previously it had not, he could not miss it. Though he’d heard many a tale when he was a child that warned him about unbridled curiosity, there was something about this realm that just tickled the imagination into action. He stood with the naked timber sentinels a moment as the gales of winter whistled, mulling over his options. He could continue on with his walk, keep marching to and fro on the same route until he returned to Mraz. Or, he could take this detour and insight a bit of mystery to his otherwise mundane trek. Ultimately, it was the nag of missing out on something new that led his cloven hooves through the trees and into a locale unknown.

Firs and deciduous trees paled away to frost-laced, emerald stalks of bamboo that bowed overhead, their slender leaves’ edges crystallized with ice. The thickness of their growth obscured what lay beyond their colonies and clusters, teasing Ryukosusei with shafts of golden light or windows of bright cerulean skies. Slowly he meandered forward, visage sweeping this way and that as his volcanic eyes ate as much detail as they could, from the naked branches of white trees standing resolute against the bamboo, to the intersecting trails carved naturalizing between the jungle. Down winding paths he followed, a sheep without a shepherd, until finally, sunlight poured through a yawning opening in the jungle. Cautiously he approached it, his harks swiveling and attentive as the sparkling archway fell over him.

Though massive cliffs and canyons unfurled before his very eyes, Ryukotsusei did not feel endangered but rather stricken with awe. The draconian stallion came almost to an immediate halt at his current junction, visionaries wide and unwilling to blink. Clouds hung at the highest peaks of this tumultuous landscape and rich, the overgrown jungle grew along almost any remotely flat surface. Soft snowflakes filtered down upon the stony outcroppings or onto the tall stalks of bamboo. Waterfalls hissed into the open crevices as they tumbled and fell down into the depths below where mists rose in more tantalizing mystery. Ryukotsusei was violently thrust back into memories of Fujing, where winter would caress the realm for more months than not, and the strange mixture of green and white was both a symbol of life and resilience. Natural stone archways offered portals or windows to witness the full breadth of what lay before him: miles upon miles of haphazard canyons intersecting one another, with tall towers of jungle-grown cliffs and plateaus.

There had been a moment where the asian lung had considered, just perhaps, that he’d missed the passageway that had led him year all those months ago. That maybe there was an off chance his exhaustion had him overlook the path. Now? Witnessing the sheer remote, awe-inspiring depths of this locale?

He’d never have missed something so spectacular.

Land Information

Ito Canyon, Midori Cliffs, Overgrow Cliffs, Muramasa Gorge

General Description

Awe-inspiring both from a distance and up close, adventure awaits in the verdant, bamboo-rich cliffs and canyons of [land name]. While contending with Prosfera Meadows in tranquility and beauty, the sudden drops and dark chasms below [land name] hide beneath the bright, vibrant surface that hosts a thick bamboo forest and whisper caution to explorers. In many locations, the bamboo shafts have grown so high that they bow down towards the stony soil, as if meditating in the silence that is only interrupted by birdsong. No matter how high your wings may carry you, or how low you may travel into the shadows of the canyons, the bamboo jungle seems to have overtaken the entire locale.

This sub-tropic jungle of greenery offers miles of exploration in the face of its cliffs, numerous moss riddled caves, and abounding bamboo forests. Shallow rivers ebb and flow through the cliffs and jungles, spilling into slender, misty waterfalls throughout the realm, making it a rather common occurrence to spy rainbows on sunny days. Spend your time relaxing in the lime shade of the forest, or cool down in the geothermal caves below. If you're brave enough to sore or climb to the highest of overlooks, one can spot sakura trees sprinkled into the otherwise emerald landscape, hidden among the labyrinth of slate and jungle. Once you'd back down, though, could you find them again?

Specific Locations (Subboards)

The Nessuisen Pools/Hotto Waters

Deep in the western canyons and caves of [land name], one may spy light winking up at them from below. Venturing into the shadows of the depths so that the vibrant green canopies and cliffs overhead yawn over you, steam rolls up along the dark rocks. Dozens of hot springs mingle with and around the undulating canyon floor, offering an ideal place to rest one's weary bones. No matter the season the waters are invitingly warm, and even the local fauna take shelter here and seem lulled into passivity. Crashing waterfalls sometimes help feed these refreshing pools, offering a dichotomy of temperatures.

Yōgan Caves/Nenshō Depths:

Where do the [hot springs land name] get their heat? Why, the [lava caves land name]. While the exterior of [land name] is verdant and brimming with life, below the rocks and jungle are labyrinthine caves. Their random paths cut through some of the canyons clear to the otherside, while others burrow deep into the core of the realm. These cavernous trails open to great, massive pockets of lava pools and rivers carved into the rock. Temperatures are stifling, and the local flora and fauna unsavory. Some reprieve can be found where the springs and streams empty into these caves and offer asylums of cool, refreshing mist. Keep an eye out, as obsidian is rich in these remote locations.

Flora & Fauna

Fireburst Nettle: There is no mistaking these hot-headed plants. Seen growing along the ceilings of [lava caves subboard name], these dull green leafy growths cling above the simmering magma rivers and pools. Small orange and red flowers take shelter behind their dry, nettle leaves and offer a sweet aroma during pollination. Careful not to brush against them, as their small defensive spines will cause great irritation and rashes.

Ancient Sakura: Hidden among [land name]'s thick bamboo forest are striking trees of white, smooth trunks and soft pink sakura flower blooms. Upon close inspection, it almost seems that the trees do not boast any sort of bark, but leave their soft, alabaster rings exposed to the humidity of the jungle. They bloom for one season out of the year, summer, and otherwise close their buds for the remainder of the year. On many occasions, they are mistaken for dying trees that the bamboo has strangled, but that could not be further from the truth.

۵ Magmaroth: These crocodilian creatures reach a height of three feet when they stand, and a length sometimes over sixteen feet. Thick, black scales cover most of the creatures' bodies, with spiny protrusions that slowly collect obsidian as the crocs alternate between the lava rivers and hot springs. These crocodilian beasts are aggressive, and known to stalk and attack on sight due to the lack of prey in the cave system.

۵ Kage Leopard: Frequenting the higher elevations of [land name], Kage Leopards are six-legged felines with two tails of black pelt with a green iridescent sheen. Besides their otherwise incredible appearance, they are rather lazy creatures, and would rather bask in the sun than chase down any wandering explorers. Luckily for the equine and cervine, their primary food source is the fish in the local streams and rivers, preferring to otherwise scavenge if their angling skills are lackluster. Beware, though, as these leopards never forget a face and while territorial will warn others of your offenses. You may find yourself at the end of their distrust and become an enemy.

Additional Notes
Subject to normal seasons and weather conditions. Snows during the winter at the higher elevations, leaving it wet and damp in the lower elevations. Boasts a naturally high humidity all year round.
